school reports - second grade

My second grade teacher was Miss Swanson. She was my favourite teacher. She read us Shel Silverstein and had a big cork board for math with Math Monsters. We also had a cork board that said "Go Bananas".

Inspired by Pip, I published my kingergarten report. Here is my second grade report:

According to my report, my writing could use improvement. It still can. My spelling used to be good, but now I am troubled when I write because I can't decide if I should use Australian or American spellings.

Our second class was the biggest of all of my classes in grade school. We had 26 kids. That was a lot by Divernon standards. I am the short one in a blue vest who can barely see over the wood block we posed with. The camera man had to zoom in on me. My best friend in second grade was Heidi Heier [Most likely by promiximity. She lived on our block] She is the one with Cindy Brady pigtails. Her dad was principal, but they moved away.

Miss Swanson was a great teacher. She could really relate to the kids and identify what kind of help they needed. I know this because when I was older, I was a teacher's aide for her for a bit. She took me under her wing when my grandma had cancer and again when my mother passed away.

She really cared about her kids and we love her for that.

  1. I love Shel Silverstein's 'The Giving Tree'. It is one of my favourite children's (and adults, too) books of all time! Great author...
