Though I have yet to start my first quilt, I find your tutorial really useful. Great job!
My blogless friend shared your blog with me today and I am so impressed. This looks like it will be very helpful. I am not a great quilter either and it takes me forever to finish one. Thank you for putting this tutorial together.
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial! I usually use Excel to plan quilts, but it looks like Word has quite a few more options. Now I'm even happier that I splurged to update from Office 2003 to 2007. Can't wait to try this! :)
Awesome! Even though I have already cut and started sewing my octagons I can use this to try and determine a few placement related issues.
This totally blows my mind. More so because the MS Word interface annoys me like no other, so I have the utmost respect for what you have done with it. I do something similar in InDesign where I can cheat and do quilt layouts to size to essentially check my math. Always have to remember to shrink the thing before printing...
Thank you! I've been looking for something like this and can't wait to try it out. It looks wonderful!
Great tutorial. I had this same idea but tuckered out before I got a design made. I wasn't sure it would give me a good enough representation to help me with designing. Your tutorial proved me wrong. I think I'll try it.
Thanks!!
Thank you! I get almost paralyzed during in the "color placing" process and this is really helpful!
This is wonderful. Thank you. I'm going to be starting my first quilt. I know the design, I just haven't picked the fabric yet. This is so helpful.
Wow - that is so amazing. I'm going to print this out chop chop!
thanks for sharing this!

Thank you sooo much for this great idea!! I am a beginner, so this helped a lot with my first project. It's not a masterpiece, but if you're curious you can have a look at http://conversationswithmyselff.blogspot.com/2008/11/i-made-decision-my-baby-will-have-baby.html
