banana stacks

A recipe for breakfest goodness. Banana Stacks.

Ingredients:
1 cup of Bisquick
1/2 cup of milk
1 egg
1 banana
Butter [optional]
Maple Syrup [optional]

Makes 10 small pancakes or 3 stacks.

In a small bowl, mix 1 egg and 1/2 cup of milk. Stir in 1 cup of Bisquick, adding a little at a time.

If you aren't familiar with it, Bisquick is a box of powdery goodness that can be used to make pancakes, waffles, dumplings, biscuits [scones], and fried chicken - consider this a sneak peak into my favourite kitchen tool.

Pour batter into warm ungreased griddle. The directions say it should be greased, ignore them. Wait until you have bubbles and then flip to other side. Remove when golden brown. Optionally butter while warm.

Slice one banana in pieces about 3/8" thick. Layer 3-4 pieces of banana between your pancakes creating a stack 3-4 layers tall. Cover with maple syrup and eat warm.

Best enjoyed while watching a TV series on DVD. I recommend Smallville, the Bionic Woman [original series] or Remington Steele this week.

  3. that is truly a miracle product!

...and not in a 'Deb mashed potato' way.

Nat's apron is very cool, home-made pressies are the best!

  4. Yum, your pancakes look so much better then the ones I served up this morning. Is it ok to serve up pancakes to your kids for breakfast and dinner? Because after your post I want some more.
