Meet Craig. His idea of high fashion is a neoprene wetsuit. I have a hard time arguing with this, because he looks good in it. I've asked him to help me out with "Share Your Stash" week (thanks Pip for hosting!). Last night, Craig pulled out a few of his favourites.

While I'm partial to monochromatics, duo-tone fabrics and Japanese novelties prints, he likes fabrics with lots of colour. Lots of colour.
He's picked out Moda's Home on the Range in teal which I got on my trip to Material Obsession. Most of it has already been sacrificed to softies. He loved the Tortoise Plaid which arrived yesterday. [There is a funny story that goes with this, but it has to wait a few days.]
I'm not sure what you call the third piece of fabric. It's some sort of hippie-mad Indian-flavoured soft cotton in pink and orange. This is one of those fabrics where the back is full of stitches that you can see. I'm not sure what it is. Instead of making an apron with it, he coerced me into making bed pillows that do not match our bedroom.
The fourth fabric was sitting on a $2 clearance table at Spotlight. It's teal, brown, white and pink. He instantly loved. It's quite a heavy, durable fabric; but not as thick as a canvas. I later bought more in the remnant bin for $.50 a meter, so I've got a fair bit but it hasn't inspired me.
He must really have a thing for pink, because the last fabric also has pink in it. Though you can't see it on the photo. This is a Michael Miller(?) barbeque fabric that I picked up at Spotlight. And those are his choices...

Well those and anything to make bright, stripey socks.
Great idea to get a fella's perspective!
ReplyDeleteI think he has good taste...especially to include a floral!
