Gift for Suzuko.

(original image from Ayumi aka Pink Penguin)

Do you remember the Gift for Suzuko project that I joined? Ayumi of Pink Penguin organized a project where 19 patchworkers from 8 countries would each make a single 4.5" coaster as a gift to the fabric designer and Japanese textile author Suzuko Koseki. We combined her fabrics with others we loved. We had free reign in choosing techniques and colour.

I made the Z near the middle with the elongated hexies and unapologetically wonky binding. I used four Suzuko prints with a Megumi Sakakibara base. Then I pinched an N from one of Suzuko's prints and appliqued it as a Z. We've been slowly watching the coasters appear on flickr. It's been great to see so many approaches and techniques.

Finally this week, they were all together. Yesterday, Ayumi delivered them! Pop on over to our flickr group to see them in detail.
