maybe, someday.

my maybe someday wall
I've got a small wall of miniscule ideas. Things I've tried, liked and taped up above my sewing machine. Personal inspiration. It's as important, if not moreso, than the inspiration from others. A chance to push myself further. Maybe someday I'll find the commitment to take them further.

The newest addition is what I'm called my clipped pickle. I was futzing around in InDesign this weekend trying to work out a pickle dish template in proportions that I liked and came up with this wacky hexagon instead. Craig calls it the bright stabby fish block.

I know the reality is that I'm not a quilt finisher. I like the process of making a few blocks, and then I'm ready to move on. For me, patchwork is about the process. I love to try new things and then move on leaving shards of unfinished blocks along the way.

But that might change and these may rear their head again. maybe, someday?

A quick note. I am no longer working for Calico&Ivy; but want to thank Sarah, Debbie, all of the Calico girls and customers for six wonderful and inspiring months. I'm sure I'll see many of you there soon. I'll be the one buying armfuls of bolts on the opposite side of the counter.

  4. omgosh, I am so awe struck (I usually don't use that word, ever). Your colour palette is sublime! The block on the coral bkgd, is that yours? So cool!
Are you going to the Quilt Show @ Darling Harbour? Rachaeldaisy & I are going on the Wed, if your around and interested in meeting for a chat? Now that perhaps you have more time on your hands, sad for you about that.
