Something new. Something Blue.

Received! - Down Under Doll Quilt Swap 2

This terrific mini-quilt showed up on the gloomiest of days last week in Sydney. Rays of sunshine that our house desparately needed. Kristine aka TownMouse drew my name in the second round of the Down Under Doll Quilt Swap.

This was my first time participating in the swap organized by Kate, OneFlewOver. I must say the bar is startling high in this swap. Australia's Got Talent. Yes, it does.

I am so happy with this quilt. The colour palette, the geometric prints, the movement and free style of it. The handquilted running stitches make me swoon. Kristine perfectly dialled in my number. She mentioned to me that it was her first swap, I hope for everyone else's sake that she joins in more!

Thank you, Kristine, for such a gorgeous quilt. Thank you, Kate, for hosting such an amazing swap. And thank you to everyone who joined in, I lost countless hours admiring your work on flickr.

Though I was skeptical about "doll quilts", I'm most definitely a convert. Bring on the next round, I say!
