72 Sewn Together

It was a busy weekend for me. I've made a start on both of my February quilt bees. I made a few blocks for my Squarish quilt and I sewed together this guy who I'm calling Albert. It's my first sewn together crochet project and I opted for an overcast woven stitch. Perhaps I should have tried for something invisible, but I think the wonky weaving adds character?

It's lap quilt size and I used the first four rows of Jan Eaton's Square Target pattern in 200 Crochet Blocks. If you own the Babette pattern, it's a similar block. I bought the yarn intending it as a gift, but Craig declared it a keeper. Who am I to argue?

As for the 200 or so unwoven ends on the back? I'll get those on a cold winter day while I'm curled up under it.

  2. Wow! Way to go! This looks amazing. Definitely a keeper. And that's a good way to look at weaving in the ends - while using it!

Beautiful, happy blanket. I love it.

  11. I love the colors you chose and how well all of the blocks meld into one piece. What type of yarn do you use? It looks so cozy!

I purchased 200 Crochet Blocks as well and am enjoying it. I hope to start working on projects using it soon.

  23. Hey babes, that is FREAKING awesome!

Really dumb non-crocheter-but-willing-to-try question... what is the wool called that you use?

As I use second hand shizzle usually I'd love to 'plan ahead' and work out the best wool/yarn/cotton stuffs for this kinda spread. I'd love to make something similar for my baby friends xoxoxo
