When I first post about eczema, Bec of Bec Clarke Creations wrote me quite a long note about ways to cope with it. I was touched that she had taken the time to write me such a long note. Then more than thirty of you also chimed in to help. I count myself very lucky to be part of such a generous community. Women (and men) willing to help and offer ideas to make someone's day just a little easier.
Craig's eczema is still quite bad, but we're hopeful with so many terrific ideas. I want to say thank you. So we're having it a Hello Sunshine, Goodbye Eczema Giveaway! I've got two packs of fabric full of golden prints.
Each pack has four prints including Heather Ross Racecars, American Jane Ovals and two Japanese linens with critters on them. There is roughly a fat eight of each prints for a total of 1/2 meter per pack.

If you'd like a chance to win, please leave a comment below. The prints have a child-like slant, so why tell us what you'd like to be when you grow up!
(I'll draw this time next week)
When I grow up I want to be wealthy enough to buy fabric whenever I want!
ReplyDelete(I just asked my 4 yr old what he wants to be when he is a man and he got all upset, saying he doesn't want to be a man! He's now insisting that I can't see him getting bigger)
I would like to grow up as a person who could be creative in EVERY way.. like thinking of exciting things to put in the kids lunchboxes or making a fantastic costumes..
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got such good excema help, I am going to go and read all those comments, because at 37, I still get excema, just bad enough to be a jolly pest. I wish I knew what I want to be when I grow up- because then, maybe I could work towards being it. I think I would really like to be able to fly. That would be good.
ReplyDeleteThe blog-o-sphere rocks doesn't it!
ReplyDeleteI'm just like Tanya, 37 and still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I'm trying my best to be a nurturing mother to my two gorgeous kids, I hope they think I'm succeeding.
Thanks for this awesome giveaway, I've had my eye on your yellow pez for ages! Good luck with the eczema.
When I grow up I want to be a Mom.
ReplyDeleteSome people might actually say that they never want to grow up! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think like most people, I want to be happy when I grow up. Not too much to ask is it? :)

ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up I wanna be a kid again - carefree, creative and giggling at everything.

ReplyDeleteAh, The ultimate queation in my life ! 49 and still dont know!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up, I'd like to be a good mum just like my mum :)
ReplyDeleteMy mum has eczema too and heat always makes it worse for her. I hope Craig gets his under control because I know how aggravating it is.
I still want to be a Vet when I grow up, pity my math skill is not up to it :(
ReplyDeleteOh boy, when I grow up I want to do everything... no holding back.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you've got some good eczema options. When I was little I wanted to be an author when I grew up, and I still do. Luckily for me, my fourth young adult novel was published last year, so I'm totally living the dream!
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to win that fabric pack! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up I want to be a designer, but in a way I guess I am with my sewing creations!
Hugs,
Gina
When I grow up I want to be:
ReplyDelete- a travel writer
- a Mum (yay, doing that!)
- a jewellery designer
- really rich, but not famous
- glamourous
Ummm, that about covers it!!
I posted about Marthe Armitage recently on my blog, a printmaker still going strong and hand printing wallpaper in her 70s. I really thought at the time, that's what I want to be when I grow up!
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
ReplyDeleteI appreciated the comments on eczema as I suffer from it an also does my poor son. I found that any illness at all makes it worse as does stress of any kind.
Finally delurking to enter your awesome giveaway! When I grow up, I want to have enough money to travel the world and buy lots of fabric from lots of different countries! Hopefully this will happen before the kids start uni, or I'll never be able to afford it! Renae
ReplyDeleteI recently decided to grow up and become a teacher. However, I still really really want to be a Transformer. (I don't think that ever really goes away....)
ReplyDeleteHope there is a cure or two in the batches of advice we doled out! (For the eczema, not for wanting to be a Transformer. Because, admit it, it would be awesome...)
alas no excema advice (fortunate enough to never have it), but LOVE these fabrics!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up I want to be independently wealthy so I can spend all day pottering in my sewing room *sigh*.
Can't help you with the exzema stuff (can't even spell it!), I know heat makes it worse, worse luck for summer time!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up, I want to be 6. Then I can have everything done for me!!
I want to be a professional vacationer. :P Or just travel a lot. And maybe work, as in take pictures and/or blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to be a singer but I don't sing well so it is just a dream =D
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are cute ^^ Thanks for the chance.
I found a book written when I was 6 years old that said when I grew up I wanted to be an artist!
ReplyDeleteI still want to be one when I grow up. Here's to achieving that one day!
Regarding Exzema my daughter started getting it really bad when we first moved to the humidity of Sydney. We have found the best thing for hers is 'diprosone ointment' which is prescribed. I am not sure if you need something stronger for adults but this is the strongest one we have used on her and it clears it up in one-two days!
When I grow up, I want to be a quilt maker .... and a mummy ..... and a puppy!!
ReplyDeleteI always thought I would be a mom when I grew up, which I have done. Now that I am 38, I will feel grown up when I have a sofa that isn't a futon that someone gave us - and when I have a decent vacuum cleaner!
ReplyDeleteI want to be a good, fun, loving mother when I grow up..one that nutures and allows creative growth! thanks for a chance to win these fantastic-fun fabrics!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up I want to be a national park ranger - wouldn't it be great to be outin the wilderness and be getting paid to do it.
ReplyDeleteThose guys must love their jobs.
Glad to hear things are on the improve.
When growing up I wanted to be a vet. I loved all animals and thought it would be fun to take care of them all day long. Now...I just wish someone would wash and brush the dog more often.
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't love to have a quilt shop. To be able to help all the quilters pick out fabric and finish projects....
I think I would love to be an icecream truck driver though. Handing out icecream to all the screaming kids. Giving out free stuff for good grades :)
Amy, I am late to the party with an eczema comment! lol I have something called "nurses eczema" that is only on my fingers and is probably a reaction to alcohol swabs used in the hospital. Anyhow, I have to be very careful to protect my skin from things that irritate it. Also, maintaining hydrations is important. The suggestions of others are really great but I would like to add one more...avocado oil. Eat some daily either in salad dressing or as fresh avocado. The oil applied to the skin is very soothing but taking it internally as well really seems to help me.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the eczema. I hope one of the helpful comments does the trick!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up...I want to write children's books. Maybe someday...
When I grow up, I want to own a hip fabric store with a coffee bar and and a place for the kiddos to play while the moms shop. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up? I have to grow up??! I'd love to be able to create everyday and not worry about the mighty dollar. I guess I want to be a lottery winner when I grow up! Hope your hubby's skin finds some relief.
ReplyDeleteI have discovered that eventhough I am a grown-up, I do not have to feel that I am and that there is no room for dreaming about what other things I would like to do like trying new creative endeavors and having a chance to use all the lovely fabric I need to collect. I might also want to be my cat when I truly grow-up. Good luck with the eczema and thanks for the give-away.
ReplyDeleteLove those fabrics! When I grow up, I want to be a photojournalist. It was my childhood dream but my parents insisted that I get a degree in something that had more job security.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! When I grow up I want to be a professor, but I also want to only have to work part time so I can enjoy the rest of my life :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! The fabrics are so cute. :) I'm 38 and still don't really know, but I did quite what I was doing because I couldn't take it any more and am not working part-time in an adorable local fabric and yarn shop and will teach my first sewing lesson today. Might be the start of a whole new career!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up I want to be the person that people feel comfortable coming to with all of their troubles, big or small. I want to be a very respectable woman in my community and I want to be counted on by all people from little children to my peers. I feel like I would have accomplished a lot in my life if I could be the woman that all the little girls want to grow up to be like.
ReplyDeleteI guess I could say that, when I grow up I want to be like my mom.
Thanks for the giveaway. What a great idea.
Great giveaway! I'd like to have lots of time for sewing and other crafts, and also great mom and wife. I hope I like to clean when I grow up too! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up I want to be a wonderful mom. A mom who is able to take care of her children, while still remaining active in her community. I want to be a great mom and wife, one who also takes care of herself, so that I will be able to be here for my grandkids as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute fabric! So cheerful! When I grow up I want to be a full time SAHM and quilt pattern designer... but right now it feels like I'll be "5" forever:) Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is adorable! I am pretty much what I wanted to be when I grew up-a SAHM who is creative. Before that, I was a museum curator which is the other thing I wanted to be. So, when the kids are bigger, maybe I will go back to my other dream job. For now, I am content.

ReplyDeletegood luck everyone
I think when I grow up, I'd like to make my living writing. In the meantime, I'm off to read the responses to the eczema help post, because I currently have a patch on my leg that is driving me mad!
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up I hope I've grown out of my procrastinating tendencies...and my bank balance has grown sufficiently to let me buy fabric whenever I'd like. (and it won't be hoarding because I won't procrastinate anymore and therefore will use all that gorgeous fabric! lol)

I missed the eczem post, but will add to the eleventy billion suggestions: Has he tried Moogoo? It's an australian company that make creams, shampoo, conditioner and the like from milk protein. Wonderful stuff. I know some people that have had great success with the MSM cream.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, when I grow up, I still want to be a vet. Or an illustrator.

I suppose my ideal dream world fantasy is to own an awesome cafe that everyone wants to go to and hang out at...that has the best homemade treats and most delicious coffee in all the land.
