Cull, Cull, Cull ...and Smile

So here's the thing... At some points in time, you need to ask yourself, "Is this adding value to my life?" And then you need to allow yourself to be ruthless with the unsubscribe, unfriend and destash button.

There's my wisdom for the week, take a look around and cull down to what's really important. I realize that I'm going to lose a few readers with that suggestion, but I'd feel so much better knowing that you've cleared up a little more time for the things that matter to you most.

Cull, cull, cull and smile. No hard feelings here. I promise.

I'll have to keep following you now, in hope. ;)

  5. Do you need to tell your readers this. It doesn't sound real nice I have to say. Didn't understand your carry on with the Blythe doll swap either. Maybe I just don't understand what u r on about.

  6. So true! I read The Happiness Project recently & the author found de-cluttering was one of her top happiness-boosting activities. I know it always works for me too :)

  7. Thank you for the reminder! Out with the unused, unloved, unnecessary makes room for recognizing the useful, lovable, and necessary that's right in front of our noses. It's clearing the forest to see a tree sometimes, but I agree - worth it.

  11. Excellent advice, Amy! But you're stuck with me - I love your blog, especially the Japanese + - blocks, which I've been having some fun making.

  12. Had the same sentiment myself this week when I started feeling guilty that I hadn't looked at the 100+ blog posts backing up in my reader. Hit "mark all as read" and starting unsubscribing to sites.

  13. I love this idea, but it sooo difficult for me, yet still easier than it has been in the past. Personally, I have stacks of rubber stamp sets that haven't been used in ages and I can't seem to get up the gumption to dump them in my Goodwill donation box... yet all they do is plague me.

  14. Cull has pretty much been the theme of my life these past 2 weeks. We're moving at the end of the month and since the hubs had to go on ahead while I waited for the house to sell, guess who's left doing the packing? The culling dervish, that's who. I'm feeling fairly ruthless but at least I know my things will be going to homes where they'll be more appreciated.
