My Doll Quilt Swap 11 quilt is ready to be quilted. DQS11 had new rules this go which took them back to their roots. Rather than do art quilts, we were asked to make miniature versions of real quilts comprised of at least 6 blocks. Overall, they were to be between 9-18" on a side. This is what I've come up with.
The design was influenced by Kumiko Fujita's Subway quilt. I drafted the small circle log cabins myself and foundation pieced to paper. I decided to give it a little more personality by injecting the center circle. It almost looks like flower petals now. I hope my partner is into this type of layout and colour palette.
My biggest struggle was finding prints and solids that matched. May I be honest? I would really like to keep this.
