hand binding: tedious and time consuming, but always worth the effort.

  1. I am about to plonk myself on the lounge with Possum and sew down some binding. It is a little like the calm after the storm that is the quilting process around here.

  3. I must be mad, but I actually love handsewing the binding down. I actually get a bid sad when I am nearly finished as it means the quilt is finished.

  6. I find it so quiet and therapeutic... Love hand-stitching the binding and the satisfaction it gives me , which is odd because I'm not a huge hand-sewing fan.

  8. I really enjoy the process of stitching down binding. Especially if there's something good to watch on television.

To be honest, I cannot stand machine stitched bindings. It drives me nuts being able to see the stitching on the front.

  9. I actually enjoy hand sewing the binding to the back of a quilt. I particularly enjoy it, when the quilt has really turned out well. I like having the extra time with something I love. Having said that, the thing I dread most is burying the threads. Ugh!
