a special parcel arrived.

Pillow Swap 6 - Received!

I nearly passed on the pillow swap this round and that would have been a mistake. It was an economic decision that would have kept me out. I worry that I've been spending a bit too much on postage lately. When my parcel arrived this morning, all my worries were quelled. I could not have hoped for or expected anything better than the goodies that Lauree of meliketocraft sent. On flickr, we know her as locodowo. Though I suggest from now on we just call her The Queen of Awesome.

When I fill out swap forms, I like to tell my partners a little about me and my interests. Apparently there was no need this time, as Lauree is a regular reader. Likewise, she's at the top of my flickr contacts. I love the photos she posts. Lauree really went the extra mile to make everything extra special for me. The perfect themes - canisters, airstream caravans and the Morton Salt girl. The perfect colors. Attention to detail and a very special note. Everything was a delight. The note was my favourite part.

The pillow front perfectly matches one of my favourite canister sets. The reverse side came with it's own matching mug! And four perfectly quirky ornaments which will get year round display in our house.

Happy. Lucky. Blessed. Loved by a long distance friend. Those words all describe how I am feeling. Thank you so much, Lauree. You've made my year.

Pillow Swap - Extras Received!

Pillow Swap 6 - Received!

Well thank goodness Kelly helped talk me into joining the swap this round. I had posted that I was going to be a bystander. She lured me in. A very special thank you to her for organizing and running this round of the pillow swap. It's quite a bit of work to organize swaps and quilt bees. A super huge thank you to all of the guys and gals, like Kelly, who help make them possible.

If you don't hear from me for a few days, I'm busy mopping up drool and happy tears.

  10. I would say that's the best pillow/cushion I've ever seen, but that'd be doing a disservice to the Call Me cushion by Lola Nova that I got in a cushion swap earlier this year. Although I am a tiny bit eaten up with envy.

  12. What a beautiful thing to receive, Amy. And I hope it has been overall, a good year for you, capped off with a beautiful pillow and accompaniments. You have given us much joy in your designing, musing, creating, posting - I've enjoyed it all. Hoping your Uni year is coming to a close soon, and you can enjoy some leisure, time to reflect, and sit happily amongst your goodies.
