on Craig's stocking.

Craig asked if I had shared his stocking which I finished after the last blog post. I promise it's the last stocking that you'll see here for a while, though I was making them all night long. I gave Craig free reign in the fabric stash to pick any fabric combination he wanted for his stocking. It is his stocking and he had taken an interest when he first saw me working on the template on the computer. I feel lucky to have a husband who takes an interest in craft sometimes.

I've read a few blog posts over the years about mothers who have let go while their kids decorate the gingerbread house. The mums put aside any of their own aesthetic sensibilities and leave it to those around them. With this Christmas stocking, I metaphorically "let the gingerbread house go."  I opened the cupboard door and left him to picking. Not an easy thing for someone fabric obsessed.  I guess he's on trend. From my reasonably diverse stash, he picked both Denyse Schmidt and Heather Ross. It's a sweet little stocking. It's different to what I would have chosen; but wonderful, special and perfect for Craig.
