I've been basting and quilting and binding. Now I'm nervously biting my fingernails as I wait for it to come out of the dryer. This is my Beehive quilt. Inspired by miniature envelopes in a block by Ayumi of Pink Penguin, I bundled fabric and a home drafted pattern for the girls in The Beehive. They paired fabrics and sewed them up. They did a top job! It feels good seeing this quilt move from pretty blocks to finished quilt in just a few days. Let's hope the dryer cooperates.
** Someone asked me a while ago about the giant magnets on our fridge. They came from Vistaprint.

It looks like pop-art. Very cool. Hope your dryer treats it nicely!
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt it will be wonderful. I love the crinkly effect from the dryer!!
ReplyDeleteoooo. this is exciting! How fun for you! Love the pic of it basted!
ReplyDeleteLove the envelopes!
ReplyDeleteOooh, that is going to look absolutely fab when it's done, can't wait to see the finished article
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about this quilt! It is so awesome. Maybe I can get a baby quilt sandwiched, quilted, and bound today, so I can have a date with the dryer, too. Hmm, that sounds a little ambitious, but I can make a go of it.
ReplyDeletei opened my e-mail and immediately started saying "ohmygod. ohmygod. is that ENVELOPES? a whole quilt of ENVELOPES?"
ReplyDeleteneedless to say, i LOVE it! i was inspired by ayumi's block as well, but the inspiration hadn't actually motivated me to action! this is amazing.
Wow, so beautiful, I love those envelopes. I am doing the same thing right now (waiting on the dryer). My Ugly Duckling Quilt that has somehow turned into a swan is in there and I am so nervous.
ReplyDeletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! I don't suppose there'll be a tutorial or pattern of the envelops?
ReplyDeleteIs it out of the dryer yet? :-)
ReplyDeleteHow did it turn out form the dryer? I am curious! Love these envelopes. So fun to check on each print you made into!
