may double destash bonanza.

Guess what, Sydney?  May is nearly here and it's going to be one heck of a crafty month.  The inner west is playing host to two (yes, two!) massive craft destash events.  I'll have tables at both of them, so now is your chance to come steal my loot. First up is Fabric-A-Brac. Do you remember the last time that I went to this? I bought a meter of Liberty for $7. I don't guarantee all of the deals are that excellent, but there are some pretty awesome gems to be had. Last time, it was a great mix of thrifty quilting cottons and worthwhile vintage prints. With dressmaking supplies, Japanese craft books and notions; there really was something for everyone. It will be held in a bigger venue without those dreaded flights of stairs I'll have some fabric, patterns and craft books on hand including sassy text prints from Japan. There's going to be live music too.

Fabric-A-Brac is on Sunday, 6 May from 10am-3pm at Petersham Town Hall. More details are available at their Facebook page. Awesome, yeah?  Not convinced, yet? Black Star Pastry is providing the baked goods. Need I say more?

If you can't make it to Fabric-A-Brac, then roll on up to Marrickville Town Hall later that week and visit  Stash & Treasure. Stash and Treasure is a similar concept but catering to the broader craft category. Here you'll find scrapbook supplies, antiques and craft treasures, as well as fabric and yarn. In addition to sewing supplies, I'll have along things like yarn, vintage crafty storage and screenprinting supplies.

If you visited  last time, you'll know that the early bird gets the worm!  Stash and Treasure is on 12 May from 9-2. That's the day before mum's day. It's the perfect chance to come by and pick up something nice for her or bring her along as a mum's weekend outing. Pop over to the Stash&Treasure facebook page to learn more.

My favourite part of these markets, of course, is getting to chat with so many crafty people. If I'm not run off my toes please take a minute to say hello!  Let me know what sort of projects you are working on. Complain to me about the new blog layout (which seems to be a common gripe). Ply me with baked goods and coffee. Show me the treasures you found at the other stalls!  Or just wink and wave when you walk by!

Most vendors don't regularly do markets, so remember to bring along a bit of extra cash for shopping and cake. Can you believe it?  It's a double destash bonanza!

  1. Hey Amy, I wouldn't mind destashing as well. Which one of these do think is better, I haven't been to the Petersham one before?
