Sometimes though, simple shines.
Among the sixteen saturated and pigment rich squares are special pieces shared by friends. The large black frame lets them pop. The scattered line quilting softens with a faint organic feel. When you're feeling overwhelmed, remember that simple can be very good.
We definitely need cushions here today..must get on to that.
ReplyDeleteSo very true. Thanks for reminding me -as I start a new project over here, I am trying to keep that in mind!
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity and colours!
ReplyDeleteSwoon! Very striking.
ReplyDeleteGreat cushions ~ simple is good. If I remembered that, I'd get more done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteI needed that reminder! So true!
ReplyDeleteLess is more . I love the simplicity of this pillow . I think for me I'm often attracted to gorgeous bold fabrics that don't look that great when you cut them up into small triangles .
ReplyDeleteWow. Do you remember which black fabrics you used? I really like some of them and would like to try to track them down. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Carla. I used an older Suzuko Koseki print from Japan. It's all the same fabric, but is several years old new. I suspect it will be rather difficult to track more down.
DeleteNice cushions Amy!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Lately I've really been feeling that simpler is better. Thanks for the reminder. Beautiful pillow.
ReplyDeleteThose cushions are gorgeous! I was wondering, how did you finish your pillow? I see that it is quilted, but that there is no binding. Do you leave raw edges on the inside? Do you use a lining? Zipper or envelope closure?
