mess of a desk

Does your desk ever look like this?

It wouldn't be so bad but it's even spread to the chair:

Seriously, my sewing room looks like one of those "can you find the hidden object?" puzzles from a kid's magazine! Ok yes, there is a tiny bit of desk space free there in the front but that's only because I picked up my camera to take a photo. I'm not sure what happened. A tornado must have hit while I was busy sewing cubes.

If you're truly bored today, here's what you can hunt for in the pictures:

- 1 camel body, no legs or eyes
- 2 kiwi birds, one disembowelled and the other with no legs
- 3 stuffed owls in various states of completion
- 2 written off baby records that warped before they hit the sun
- 7 (seven!) failed attempts at leg designs for aforementioned camel and kiwi birds
- unknown number of pattern pieces not filed away
- large stash of fabric sticking out of it's hiding space
- about a jillion normal and quilting pins
- 1 absentee ballot for the US presidential election (I'll decide on that right after I pick out which fabric to use next)
- and one low-grade budget sewing machine

OK, you can see what I'm up to for the rest of the afternoon. I'm going to try to find my chair, then my ironing board and then the desk. If you don't hear from me, I'm burried in the rubble.
