school reports - kindergarten

The always creative folks at Mikes put out a call for school reports. I always loved school. I devoured it and ate it up. I was what you call a nerd, here is a kindergarten report. In kindergarten we got weird grades (E for excellent, G for good, I for improving and N for needs work). If I didn't get an E, I was devastated. Even at age 5.

They are a bit hard to read because old blue carbons don't scan very well. Miss Hackelthal was my kindergarten teacher. I don't remember much about her except she promoted me to first grade math which meant I missed "shoe-tieing period" and couldn't properly tie my shoes until third grade. Thank goodness velcro was becoming trendy.

Here is what she did say though "...She has been doing 1-2 pages, on the average, of first grade math per day. I would like for her to move along faster through the book and I was wondering if you would mind if she brought home one or two homework papers each night. I think Amy is responsible enough to complete the papers and remember to bring them back to school."

First, who assigns a kindergarten child homework!?! None of the other kids had homework. Second, perhaps this added responsibility is what has been plagueing me my entire life?! I'm very obsessive and careful and responsible, and it's probably Miss Hackelthal's fault.

Finally, I only got a G in "Shows creative ability." What's with that?

I will post more school reports another day.
