price my stash

I'm second-guessing myself on pricing the little critters coming with me on Sunday. I've dug through Etsy & MadeIt, but am still struggling with that's fair market pricing. Is it more than the online stores? less? If you've got any ideas at all, I've love to hear in the comments! If you win the fabric giveaway, I'll put a even more surprises in the surprise bag!

Here's the type of stuff that I've got:
  • Dachshunds

  • Kiwis

  • Calaveras ornaments

  • Sets of soft blocks

  • Russian Doll stuffies

  • Amish puzzle balls

There are a few other bits and bobs coming with me, but that's the main types of items at the table. For the most part they are all made from quilting cottons (Moda, Michael Miller, Kokka) and I do have a few behind the scenes running costs (thread, needles, bandaids =) Please, don't worry about offending me! I want to get a real picture of what things are worth and could really use your help!

It would also help if you noted your country in the comment. Thanks heaps!

  1. I say you could charge between $25 and 30 for the dachshunds, kiwis and Russian Dolls, $15 to 20 for the Calaveras ornaments, $20 to 25 for the blocks and the Amish puzzle balls. That would be US dollars.

    Good luck!

  2. Amy,

They are all so lovely. Your softies I would be happy to pay at least $30-$40 for but I guess that is as a crafter knowing the price of fabric time ect that would go into them all. You pay more than $25 for crapolla mass produced soft toys in the shops.

The dolls and blocks I would be happy to pay at least $20, they are original and the fabrics are beautiful.

I don't know if I have been of any help. I'm not really sure of fair market pricing either. I hope the markets go really well for you.

  3. I simply love the kiwis, dachshunds and russian dolls =). In NZ, I would say that they will be priced around NZD 25 to 35 - depending where they are sold - the more 'posh' the store, the more expensive. The blocks and puzzles are perhaps a little less because of their sizes.
I really love the fabrics, they make me smile =), but it is possible that some potential customers will not be able to tell the difference between Moda and some cheap fabrics, and I think that this may limit the price you can set.
    Hope this helps =)
All the best in preparing for the market!
    Cheers, Sulz
