what do to with fleece

So I've got 4 meters of gold fleece tucked away in the closet that Craig is sure to find soon.

I vastly overestimated on project needs, then realized it was far too heavy for the project at hand and then abandoned the project all together. Who really wants a taxi-themed shopping cart liner anyway?

Now I'm looking for any good ideas on how to use it and get it out of my life. If you can give me a good idea and I end up using it for my market, I'll send you a free one of whatever you suggested. I won't be able to make every idea, but if they are good, I may try two or three of them out. Easy enough?

Requirements:
  • use gold fleece in some way (outside, lining, interfacting, whatever...)
  • can reasonably get rid of 4 meters of 66" wide heavy fleece quickly
  • something I can sell at the market
  • cannot be a licensed pattern or copyright protected idea
  • you don't need to pass along a pattern, just an idea!

Seriously, I'm stumped and he'll probably go through the roof when he finds it. I'd give it away but it weighs about 684 pounds.

  1. Hmmmm, how about softie lions with the manes made from snipped fleece.
You would need a heck of a lot of lions to get rid of 4 metres, but that is all I can think of for now.
I will come back if I have any more ideas.

  2. hhhmmm...well considering they wanted more "aussie" softies, maybe a yellow-footed rock wallaby?? (or myabe just a yellow kangaroo)
Or a giraffe, suns, flowers, a canary or a whole lot of bananas!!

  3. How about baby sleeping bags with a rubber duck theme? If I win I'll have one for a baby of about 6 foot, i.e. Mr Bell, because he's always wistfully looking at the Bug's sleeping bags and wishing he had one of his own :)

  4. -lining for inside of a big beach bag or tote, or the entire tote itself - those baby towels with the corner hoodie or baby blanket. It could look like a duckie - sunny pillow different shapes and sizes, maybe cut the fabric in thin strips or squares and sown together quilt style to give it some added texture - mini summery couch blanket using same quilting technique as pillows - um I could go on forever but I need to get back to work. =)

  5. My 4 yr old suggests you make some bumblebees (he means the transformer named bumbelee hahahah)
but I like the idea of a softie honeycomb beehive and some wee lil bees inside it
My lil girl would love it and you could attach a tag with the song "here is the beehive but where are the bees" you know that one? my lil ones love it

  7. I was thinking you could try making kids size pillows for cuddling on the catch or whatever in the form of sunflowers or daisys.Add a couple other colours for the centers and such. It may use up a bit more material than smaller softies. good luck and if all these suggestions fail you could whip yourself up a all in one suit for next winter. Do you ski?

  10. Fleece makes a nice soft lining for a bag. You'll use more of it quickly that way too.
