I'm so pleased that the Ice Cream Social has gained so much momentum. We kick off July 18th, so you still have plenty of time to join in and sew with us.
What would an ice cream social be without a few prizes to giveaway?! Along with Kate and myself, we've rounded up a few sponsors. The prizes are seriously good. If I weren't hosting myself, I'd sign up and sewalong just for a chance to win:
Oliver + S has generously offered up their pattern to two lucky winners. I know a few of you have already purchased the ice cream dress pattern and are ready to begin sewing. Don't feel left out of this one! If you're the winner and you already have the pattern you can select another style or size. Many thanks to Liesl, Todd and the whole team at Oliver + S for supporting our sewalong. Without your patterns, none of this would be possible!
They say the Early Bird gets the worm, but in this case you also get the fabric too. In addition to a copy of the Ice Cream Dress pattern, Badskirt is also offering enough Early Bird fabric to make View B in any of the smaller sizes.
And where there's ice cream, there's always ice cream trucks! Patchwork on Central Park has kindly donated a half meter of extremely rare Munki Munki fabric designed by Heather Ross. This fabric has come directly from the bolt and is not from repurposed pajamas. It's new and crisp and ready for you.
And to round things out, Kate has contributed the sweetest Liberty of London and Kei fabric bundle. A half meter of each! Oh my!
I know many of you have questions about how the sewalong works and the general requirements for the pattern. On Monday, I'll be doing a little post with those sorts of details and a button for you blog.
In the meantime, if you'd like a chance to win these prizes, join the Ice Cream Social flickr group and leave a comment on the Official Giveaway thread with the following details:
- what version of the ice cream dress you hope to make
- who you are making it for
- what fabrics you might be using
Prize winners will be selected on Thursday, July 8th to ensure everyone receives their patterns and fabric in time for the July 18th kickoff. Best of luck to everyone!
Great giveaways!!

ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to sew this for my daughter's 4th birthday coming up in August. I like view A, and I'm still thinking about what I'll use. I've been wanting to use some Liberty lawn, and maybe this would be a good occasion to indulge. Looking forward to other's ideas!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! My Mom found your site and directed me to your fun Ice Cream Social starting soon!
