The Blythe Meet

Yesterday, I went to the annual Australian Blythe Meet where I met up with Bec, Emily, Erin, Jasper, Janelle, Angelique and so many other blythe collectors. There were some very serious collectors. The kind who have 20+ dolls! And there were very creative girls who made stunning outfits for the Carnivale theme. I was a bit awestruck and never quite sure where to look.

Smith and I had a grand time. We took all sorts of photos, but forgot to write down the names of the dolls and who owns them. So apologies that I haven't credited the owners, customizers and seamstresses in these photos. There's a couple of dozen more in my flickr set.

I'm just smitten with the Peony Blythe in the first picture in this post. I would love to get one someday. And a miniature Golden Book. Just perfect! Speaking of Blythe shopping, they are now (or perhaps very shortly) going to be sold at a few David Jones stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. To start, four types of dolls will be available. If you've been thinking of trying out the Blythe hobby, now is your chance to give it a go.

I saw in Target today - Blythe 'dolls' packaged up with Littlest Pet Shop toys - they are actually labelled 'Blythe meets LPS' - ahhhh, love the commercialisation of everything...
