2WENTY-THR3E

I did a wee bit of Christmas shopping today. A present for me. I bought a a little personal Christmas gift, a 2WENTY-THR3E layercake from Cosmo Cricket and Moda.

I paid $53 locally because I wanted to start sewing with it today. If you've got the slightest bit of patience, QuiltJane has the precuts for this collection substantially cheaper in Australia. My patience was zero. I said it was a Christmas gift?  Hmm. I opened it today...

I'll use this collection as a whole in a quilt for our couch. I'll use the duplicates in the layer cake for zipper pouches and baskets around our home. I think the range is a winner. There's only a handful in the collection that I probably wouldn't pick up on their own.

The soft warm greys are relaxing. The mustards have just the right amount of zing.

I'd like to pick up yardage of the semi-oval prints when they come out. I think it will make for some pretty outstanding binding.

This collection looks like a winner to me! I've been buying a lot less fabric lately, but this was something couldn't resist.

  1. I can't wait for this collection! I'm normally not a big moda girl, but this is so much more graphic than their usual stuff. I can't wait to see what you do with it... no pressure!

  5. $53! Ouch. I usually charge in the $40s for layer cakes, but I don't have this one in stock. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

  6. I love this collection. And I appreciate the photos -- I like seeing all the prints laid out this way. It gives me a much better idea of the scale of the prints as well as the colors. Can't wait to see what it turns into!
