...if only my life were so covert.
If you would like to see finished things though, make sure you pencil in the Modern Quilt Show on May 3rd and 4th in Berry, NSW. This will be Australia's first quilt exhibition with a focus on the modern quilting movement. There will be market stalls, raffles and plenty of eye candy. The show is being organized by the Wollongong Modern Quilt Guild.
I've never entered a quilt for show before, so I decided to make a go of it. I was lured in by the prospect of showing people my recent work, but they have a growing list of prizes on offer for those who have a competitive slant. There is still time to submit your quilt(s) using the online entry form. I'm a bit nervous and hope I make the cut!
As this a new event which has been sprung together rather quickly, there are still openings for sponsors and market stalls.
Pack your bags and meet me in Berry, next month?
Gosh, this is the first I've heard of this. I wish I'd known about it sooner :(
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
Hi Kirsty! It did pop up rather suddenly. I know the event organizers have been on a mad dash to get this set up when they got a request from a local club (I think?) It has been in a couple of Facebook groups, and I am helping to get the word out there. If you submitted your work remotely from Brisbane, I'd make sure to get pictures for you!
DeleteThanks Amy. I would love to go myself but I think it might be a bit late for me to organise my life. Darn kids. I've never submitted to a show...the thought makes my insides go a bit wibbly...but what a great motivator to get something finished.
DeleteI'd love to meet you in Berry and see all the lovely things :) Too bad I live on the other side of the world.
