Polka Dot Tea is a online fabric boutique, co-owned by two quite clever girls. Jeannette and Danielle combine their styles selecting fun, funky, sweet, trendy prints for their online shop including Liberty of London, hard-to-find Japanese prints and some of the best pieces from the production companies in the states.
The Maker collection has twenty pieces in the range in a mix of sewing-themed and geometric prints. It's well-rounded with ten each of low-volume and saturated prints in golden mustards, coral pinks and greys with a splash of mint for good measure. It's an Art Gallery Fabrics range, so it has a soft hand that makes it a joy to work with. My pick of the lot would be Shabby with its pink and mustard patches joined by scratchy hatch - very retro. I'm toying with ordering a meter to recover one of our vintage dining chairs. The print would feel right at home amongst our canister and Dymo-labeled spice rack.
I asked Craig to pick out his favorites. He chose Shabby, both zipper prints, the text, one of the scissors prints and the mustard coat hangers. [See second photo in the post.] I asked him why he didn't choose the pin print and he said, "They always stab my feet." Some complaints never go away.
I'm keen to dive into these prints. What's next on your cutting table?
Those fabrics are very tempting....

ReplyDeleteMy husband had 'magnetic' toes. He always stepped on pins. My feet learned to avoid them. lol. I love the fabrics you chose.
