I don't know about the rest of you, but I find myself drowning in scraps. I finish a project and have just a wee bit left over of a 'perfect' fabric and I feel like I need to save the special piece for just the right project.
Let's be honest for a moment...
I don't understand my own compulsion to cling to the last piece of fabric like it's gold. With my new job, I don't get a lot of time to sew. I may as well use it on those rare moments when I get the chance.
With that in mind, I went scrap busting today. It's the last of the orange kittens. It's the last of the navy sparkle. It has no particular purpose and was born out of the fact that I could get exactly 12 HSTs from each print.
Hello little pouch, you're just the right size to hold more scraps!
As a side note: I feel like I out to apologize for the quality of my photos these days. I live in the world's greyest city and my landlord painted the walls a dingy grey-white. I may treat myself to a new lens soon. One that lets in more light. I welcome any suggestions on that front. I'm using a Canon SLR with a standard twin lens kit and added a 25mm pancake as a treat to myself last year.
happy crafting, make good stuff. amy badskirt.
Your photos are fine!
ReplyDeleteI love that pouch would not think of orange and navy together. Love the kitten print! The greyest city? The photos don't look bad at all there is a glow... Not sure if you are still in NZ but I went there on a camper van holiday for four weeks years ago, it rained for all but three of those days... it was really depressing. We got to Wellington and it was clear blue and still, so beautiful.
ReplyDeletePurrfect project for your gorgeous scraps!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, I'm a crap photographer. However, I do observe, and I notice that when doing interior shots, a lot of photographers use lighting and those reflective brollies (and if they are really rich, people to hold the screens).
ReplyDeleteYou could fashion yourself a booth out of a white sheet, experiment with a cool white globe in a lamp to get more oomph out of it.
I live in the central-west of Victoria. It's the grey capital of the state. Where the joke is that we have three seasons in our microcosm : January, February and winter. I thought it was a joke......
Good luck.
And for the record, your photos look lovely.
