Jess mentioned the Rockdale Spotlight had a lot of yarn. Bec thought Panda Regal looked a whole lot like my favourite CottonNottoc, and then the other Jess mentioned a $20 off sale. The forces had aligned and I found myself on a train not quite sure where to get off. Rockdale? Banksia? No matter. Let's shop.
After deboarding in Rockdale, I stumbled up the road to a Vinnies. Why isn't my local Vinnies so good? Within three minutes, I spied some old canisters. Must Have Canisters. The next thing I know, I was proudly toting them down the street. What better to do other than fill them up with yarn and blocks?!
Flour and Rice have seen better days reading only Fl and ce respectively. Sugar is completely awol. Likely run off with my Spotlight card and coupon. No matters! I'm a completely happy girl.

i'm feeling really happy at your finds ... and i didn't find them! great ideas ... and i love the colours you crochet with.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of those canisters are so you... it was meant to be!
ReplyDeleteHope rockdale spolight was ok in the Yarn dept- you can fill me in next week
Ah panda 4ply cotton - I'm using that for a granny square baby blanket at the moment. It's beautiful to work with.
ReplyDeletePretty colours. Glad there wasn't a Rockdale Spotlight when I went to school in Kogarah all those eons ago- I failed a uni subject because of one, imagine failing school because of that place! Is Rockdale bowl still there? Ahh, many years of sport at that place.
ReplyDeleteLove the combo of vintage canisters and yarn and crochet! I would love to find such treasures.
ReplyDeleteScore! Love them and am choosing to be happy for your finds instead of jealous of your canisters. :-)
ReplyDeleteNot only does my local Spotlight pale in comparison, but so does my local Vinnies! Love the cottons. Do you have plans for them. Love the old canister set as well, my sister has parts of the same one. :)
ReplyDeleteoh!!! I LOVE how you used the canisters! I got some canisters the other day and couldn't figure out what to do with them. I definitely have some msc yarn-y things that need a place away from kitty eyes...

What a post full of treasures! Love the cotton, love the canisters, love the canisters full of cotton.
ReplyDeleteI'm green with envy! Those colours are amazing. I think op shop in the outer suburbs are usually heaps better, than those in trendy suburbs.
ReplyDeleteLove those canisters! What a find!
