New Circa 1934 - Cosmo Cricket

My philosophy - only enter blog giveaways that you really want to win. Karma might smile on you. When that fails, choose the least popular colourway in the giveaway for better odds.

I won these new (not yet released at Quilt Market) Cosmo Cricket prints and they arrived today. They have now partnered with Moda and the results are terrific.

I was skeptical when I heard they were using a new company, becuase I always loved the obscured and swanky colours of Cosmo Cricket fabric with Andover. I worried Moda wouldn't match the rich tones of the paper products. My worries were unfounded and these prints are better than expected. Wonderful.

Better than their swatches even! the swatches give the impression that the prints are highly mottled, almost batik. In fact, it's the subtlest of undertones that bring a little more life into the prints. I wouldn't have even noticed it, if I weren't actively looking for it.

I went for this celadon green because I don't have anything in this range in my stash. I also thought it might increase my odds of winning. The black and red bundle seemed popular. Cheeky?

    You did blog it - I read it and was jealous and immediately began trying to design a Cosmo Cricket in my head so I could make it for Moda Bake Shop and get my hands on some ASAP!

    thanks for showing them - i've seen only very small pictures yet and wasn't too sure of them -- but now they're definitely on my wishlist :)
    can't wait to see what you'll come up with using those yummies!

    They are gorgeous! Cosmo always make unique fabrics. Well done on the win - I only enter things I really want to win too, I figure otherwise I am for sure going to win something I don't like! And what a waste for all the people who do like it!

    I have only just got hold of some of the earlier Cosmo prints (Early bird and Tailor Made) but these are gorgeous too:)
