the (returning) student experience

Remember not too long ago when I mentioned that I had no marketing qualifications? If my long-winded rambling wasn't a clue, I should mention that I have more than a slight interest in the topic. I had a little something tucked up my sleeve that day in the form of a University application. Wands waved, hoops gamboled, and I'm on journey towards a Master of Marketing.

This week, I'm giving myself a crash course in Consumer Behaviour. Next week, I'll be knee deep into my first two electives, Understanding Buyer Behaviour and Product and Brand Management.

You never know where life is going to take you. Some times you need to give it a little nudge in the direction you'd like to head. Other times you need to grab the wheel, take the exit and set off in a whole new direction.

I know quite a few crafty fiends are heading back to school this term, and I've heard from a few more that it's something they'd like to do. I've also heard recently that my generation will go through seven career changes in our lifetime. Seven! With that in mind, you shouldn't be scared of trying something new. So if university is something that you've been thinking about, why not take that leap now? Whether you'll be a new student or a returning one, full-time or part-time; learning more about a subject you love makes sense.

As for me, I'm very very excited.
