To Bow or Not To Bow?

To bow or not to bow? That is the question. What do you think? Do I make a long fancy matching bow tie for the neck or keep it simple with ribbon or binding?

Also, please do not be turned on by my sexy armpit. I know this will be difficult for some of you, but let's keep things focused on my shirt.

  1. No bow.

And looking at your shirt, I am wishing I had picked up more of that voile.... Love the top. And hey, sexy armpit. :-)

  2. I think a large fabric flower to one side of the neckline. And hey, if you hadn't of pointed it out, I would never have looked at your sexy armpit!!!

  5. I quite like it plain like it is - or maybe you could use something a bit more lush like very wide satin ribbon, as the tie?

  7. I say plain. If in doubt never bow - unless you're going to some 1980's retro party ;-) I like to jazz plain stuff up with the right accessories like jewellery I happen to be wearing with the same outfit.

  8. The comments tell the story of how you can tell all people are different - no response exactly the same. If I were making it for me the simpler the better - I am not a fussy person. I don't know you well enough to say, but the selection of a simple striped fabric with just a touch of flourish in the stripes suggests that a bow may be too much, but there is always the solution I use with my Granddaughters - make the bow or flower or whatever on a pin bar and attch when you want it.

  11. no bow, a bow on this style is too juvenile.
but perhaps there is something that is better than what you have used in the pic. Maybe Hitch is onto something, a slightly wider tie?

  12. Love this top! Who makes the pattern? I'd love to make one, too. I love the top just the way it is. It looks perfect already.

    1. There isn't a pattern for it. It's similar to a pillowcase dress. You could probably find a pattern for that and go from there?
