Have you ever looked at a blog post and thought, "why the heck did she hang her quilt up on a tree?" I've had that same reaction many times. I've often wondered why I see quilts displayed on barns, trees and swingsets. One time, I even saw one displayed on a donkey. [The donkey actually made a great deal of sense, believe it or not trust me on that.] And yet, there I was this morning wadding my new quilt top up and sticking it in the nook of the tree. Surely, it would have made more sense on the couch or the bed? Have I become a craft cliché? Probably.
I made a new quilt top. I stuck it in a tree.
I think I've seen the one about the donkey. I don't think there's anything wrong with photos of quilts in weird places, it makes things more interesting - variety being the spice of life and all that.
ReplyDeleteLol! I've had similar thoughts. Can't wait to see how you quilt this top!
ReplyDelete"craft cliche"... love that!
ReplyDeleteI probably would stick a quilt in a tree too :)
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful!
I don't understand the rolled up quilt picture. I never get the point of that one because you can't see anything!
ReplyDeleteI think in order to be craft cliche you need to stretch it out a bit ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, but I like the way a quilt top looks hanging - how it drapes and you can just see bits and peaks. I want to see more of yours =)
ReplyDeleteLove the bright solids used with that print. Even if it's hanging in a tree. :-P
ReplyDeleteI finally put a quilt in a tree last month but it was a really nice tree! Yours shows off the colors it's like a teaser.
ReplyDeleteok....so do we get to see the whole quilt? I know you want to share it!
ReplyDeleteI've done that! lol! In my defense, the quilt was huge and my helper wasn't around to help.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the rest of this quilt. Awesome work as always, Amy!
