Scarf Making.

I've rediscovered my love of the hook. I'm making a scarf using Purl's Granny Stripe Blanket pattern. I'm using Rowan's fine milk cotton which is unfortunately now discontinued. Luckily I have more than enough in reserve for a really long scarf. It hooks up beautifully.

  1. Nice - I need to get back to my knitting. Perhaps frogging the cursed yarn would be a good first step....

  2. Gorgeous colour. I can only hook round and round not in a line. Something I need to learn.

    1. Bree, I learned to hook in a line by practicing with the blocks in Jan Eaton's 200 Crochet Blocks. I used the random blocks for bunting and coasters. If you know how to do granny squares, making this granny stripe pattern via purl (also in the Jan Eaton book or at Attic24) is a very easy transition to straight lines! Or if getting started is trouble, first make a giant granny square in the round. Then practice lines by going back and forth along one edge. I bet you'll get the hang of it quickly!

  3. Pretty! I love their blanket, and this is a great way to use the pattern.
