Another holiday season draws to a close. Orbs of joy quietly being tucked away.
The angels, pups and tin toys will all settle into their boxes.
Our tree was pretty lowkey this year. Our vintage ornaments and those from my mother graced the branches. No lights. No garland. A patchwork tree skirt from my Aunt LeAnn finished off the trimming. Simple, yet perfect.
Packing the ornaments away brings a strange mix of happy and sad. Little orbs of joy glimmering in the sunlight.
Our tree will stay up until next week as once Christmas is over it becomes the birthday tree at our place. It makes me so sad to have to pack away all those beautiful shiny things until next year so any excuse to keep it a bit longer is good.
