hooked again.
Again, I've found myself caught with the crochet bug. Crafting is quite cyclical for me. Right now, it seems to be all about the hooks. I'm now working Lisa van Klaveren's Classic Baby Cardigan pattern which I purchased on Ravelry. Like the cables from last week, I was taken with the look of the stitches in this sweater and wanted to see how it was done. For the first go, I opted for the wee 0-3 month size. It's so little! Notice that my hook almost dwarfs it.
With my sudden obsession with crochet, it is no surprise that I'll be checking out the yarn stores at tomorrow's Sydney Craft Fair. I'll be making the rounds to Suzy Hausfrau, Willmark Supplies and Kaalund Yarns to see what they have on offer. On the sewing front I'm after sizzix dies from Tracy at Annies and a few special prints from Kelani Fabrics.
Are you headed to the Sydney Craft Fair this week? What booths are you keen to scope out? Any new crafts or tools that you are keen to try?
What kind of difficulty rating would you give these? That cardi is amazing, but if they're too hard ill just enrage myself :D
ReplyDeleteThis cardigan is super easy. It's a combination of normal single crochet and double crochet. If you can make a granny square (and I know you can!) then you'd be really good to go with this cardigan. The cable sweater was a bit trickier because it required front post and back post double crochet. I'm certain you could manage them both though!
DeleteThis is so sweet and of course so encouraging for a Little Person, because it doesn´t take too Long. I don´t know if I would have the Patience to make something like this for me ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm headed to the fair on Friday. I always end up with something from Kelani, on the lookout for wedge & 60 degree triangle rulers and some more perle cotton (all Sarah Fielke inspired) and possibly time to suss out a good lamp for my new sewing space. I always loved the workshops but they don't seem to have as many or the variety that they have in previous years ):
