for goldilocks

20131122-IMG_0494.jpg

My brown hair goldilocks complained that our old potholders were too nice.  Too nice?!
Could I make some that are crummier?  That way he'd know it was okay to use them...   He pointed out that even I don't use the "nice ones."  Rather than clue him in that the reason I don't use them is that I don't cook, I made him some that I hoped would fit the bill.  I showed my brown hair goldilocks last night, hoping that he'd approve.  This batch is apparently "too square."

Based on Prudent Baby pattern.

  2. LOVE the potholders! But how could anything with AMH be crummy?! I'll take them off your hands, in exchange for some really, really crummy ones. Just sayin' :)

  3. Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly dont know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

  4. My DH is just like yours. He has a request to change every potholder I make for him. Love yours, of course, my "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer" would require some alteration anyway. PS: I don't cook either.

  5. My husband would have no trouble making a mess of those new potholders...

  6. They look great. You could have saved yourself some trouble by using one of the other "too nice" potholders to sop up some soy sauce and red wine or something.

  8. They are lovely! Do you use insulbrite or some kind of heat-resistant wadding, or just the normal kind? I've been meaning to make some potholders too.

    1. I used insulbrite with an additional layer of batting. I picked it up at Spotlight. I've noticed the bolts of insulbrite vary quite a bit though, perhaps due to age and older versions of the product? Given them a good squeeze and make sure to get the ones that make the least amount of crumply noisy. One batch that I had was all crunchy.

  9. Thanks! That's a good tip. And good to know I can find it at Spotlight too.
