new in my nest

felt round cushions

felt round cushion

I'm a wee bit enthusiastic about working with wool felt at the moment. Four cushion covers later and and there's no signs that I'll be slowing down. As soon as I own enough cushion inserts, I'll see about getting better photos. Apparently a trip to IKEA is in order.  I've found wool felt to be terrific textile to work with. The sheets I used had a nice thick body and I'm quite fond of the flecked brown that I found.  I've got a few more wool  felt ideas that I want to try.

On to more exciting news though!

A big congrats to iamacraftykat who won the Polka Dot Tea fabric giveaway! I'm certain she'll make something utterly awesome with it. Sorry for the delayed announcement. It took an extra day or two to round up all the great nest photos on the social media sites and to include them with the excellent fabric bundle recommendations on the giveaway post. Be sure to visit the Polka Dot Tea shop again and show your support. I'm happy they graciously said yes when I asked them to sponsor my virtual housewarming party.

I haven't shared my fabric picks from their shop yet. In case you're curious, Suzuko prints always make me happy and the chambray melange would be a terrific backdrop if you wanted to make circle cushions of your own. If you're a Liberty lover, then the Liberty scrap pack would make great circles on a cushion too; don't forget there's a fabric circle tutorial right here at Badskirt, if you want to give it a try. Congrats Kathy and thanks to Jeannette and Danielle!

Go forth and make good stuff,  amy badskirt.
