In continuing to answer Pip's call to share fabrics this week, I thought I'd post the new additions to my stash. Fresh out of the postie's hand this morning!

In there, you'll find Michael Miller's clown stripes in Red & Spearmint. Those pieces are already allocated to "stripey socks" as my husband calls them. Most people just call them softie legs.
There's Vagabond Teal from Urban Chiks' 1974 collection (it's actually more blue than teal which makes me very very very happy) and Jessica Jones' Blue Peapods on canvas which will join my canvas robots in looking for a purpose.
You'll also see some Michael Miller Tortoise Plaid Meadow for the Ginger Blossom collection which I thought the Australian postman had swallowed months ago. [He did, but then spit it back out and sent it back to Kristin who kindly sent it back my way!]
Finally, hiding there under the Sew, Mama, Sew card are some little gnomes on light blue. I guess they were a tad shy during the photo shoot.
The recess charm pack didn't make the photo, but well I love all 36 fabrics in that stack! (dumb beginner question: this is my first charm pack. do you prewash these or work with them unwashed until they are all sewn together?)
mmm.. can't wait to get sewing with all of these and can't wait to see more of everyone else's wonderful stashes. I can definitely say that I have stash envy!
what's a charm pack?........I am a washer of all fabrics but I know many arent. I think if there's a chance of fabric running like dark colours u should wash that.
ReplyDeleteA charm pack is a stack of precut squares all from a particular range of fabric. In this case, American Jane’s Recess. I’ve got 36 5”x 5” squares in about 6 patterns and 6 colorways that coordinate. They make quilting easier and quicker because you already have matching stuff.
ReplyDeleteThey are sort of like jelly rolls in that regard. (I'll drop you an email with pictures!)
I never pre-wash anything, jusgt habit I think, but it is probably best if you do. You know the old do as I say not as I do analogy
