pattern recommendation please

Last week, I picked up quite a few supplies for Halloween. What I didn't pick up is a pattern. I'm not sure what I was thinking. I've never made a real dress before and the one I did make sans pattern was pretty much a flop. I've got my inspiration all-ready, but really need help with a pattern recommendation.

I'd like to go as a tragic Alice like this costume available from Heavy Red. My life is completely devoid of goth styling right now, so I thought it'd be fun to do a dark take on a usually whimsical outfit.

Or something like this dark alice print from suicide kitten on Etsy but with a lot less fullness unless its tulle. I love tulle.

And though I tried, I couldn't get Craig to don a white rabbit costume with me and come as these dolls that I found via Google at BearzAbout.

So I'm hoping you can point me to a pattern to make something like the Heavy Red Alice. I'm pretty sure I can do the apron without a pattern, but I'm a little lost on the dress. I'm a US4, Australian 8 but can wear a little girl's 14-16 in a pinch because I'm only 4'10". I need something that I can buy locally this week to be ready for Halloween. I'd love your ideas...

And if I had time, I'm pretty sure that I need these devine shoes from miss-bunny on flickr to finish things off.

I may have to settle for something simpler. Can you help!?!

  1. I'll have a think about patterns, I've been doing some thinking about macabre Alice myself lately, eg: http://bellgirl.com.au/2008/10/bittersweet-marie.html and the link.
