Remember those dresses that I took to Mathilda's Market? Well I had a few left and I knew straight away that this one should go to a special little girl. This girl's mum is the Flea Market Fancy collector. She was on the bandwagon well before anyone else had instruments. I knew it would make her smile each time she saw her little girl run and play in those daisy dots.
This dress is made from the Jump Rope Dress pattern by Oliver+S in view B with short sleeves. Just to mix things up or show that I'm human, I've put the placket on backwards with the buttons on the right instead of the left. E is 20 months old, and is shown in a 3T which gives her plenty of room to stretch and run.
Would you like to make one of these? Although the pattern is listed as 3 scissors in difficulty, View B is seriously easy!
Don't forget The JumpRope Dress Sewalong starts September 6th! You have plenty of time to buy your patterns from Badskirt; the hosts Sew, Mama, Sew; or the pattern designers, Oliver+S. Please note this pattern is now discontinued. Official word is that the larger sizes may sell out quickly.
Hey we posted at the same time! And you used my favourite photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you doesn't seem enough, but I can't think of another word. I'm not often speechless.
Did I tell you that she grabbed the dress and showed my husband last night when he got home and then she started to take her clothes off to put it on. She really loves it.
Thank you.xx
It's such a cute dress! So sweet with the short sleeves.
ReplyDeleteI've bought the pattern and yesterday I ordered the fabric so I'm nearly ready (although the placket does look rather daunting and it might be a good idea if I learnt how to do buttonholes before tackling them on this dress!) Thanks for hosting these sew alongs.
Love that dress! Your fabric is amazing!;)
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE! I bought a curtain from Land of Nod in the same fabric, and I think I might attempt this dress in it. Hmmmm.... it's such a great pattern
ReplyDeleteGlad to see this! I am thinking of going up another size (to 3T) for my 18M old. The other seems to really fit and I'm afraid she won't wear it long. I think it's worth pointing out - maybe in the sew along details - that this dress seems slimmer fitting than most other patterns.
