fabric stacks

Do you like looking at pictures of fabric stacks? Taking photos of them has become a new hobby for me. This week Little Miss Shabby set up a flickr group for us to show them off called Fabulous Fabric Stacks. Here's some stack photos that I've taken this week:

The first is a shop bundle. I think it would make a great stacked coin quilt.

The second photo is a shot of some of my special green fabrics as I was collecting them for the Tokyo Subway Quilt.

The third photo is for a new weekly theme meme that goes along with the new fabric stack group. The meme is called Stack Themes. Each week, one person selects an open-ended theme and you're challenged to look at outside of fabric collection lines and select a stack of fabrics that meets the theme. Week 1's theme is Season with a side of smiles. I selected a burst of summer for my season. You can read about why I choose these prints on the flickr photo.

The Riley Blake honeycomb seems to be my "goto" print these days. I'll need to be careful that I don't overuse it.

  1. Very pretty stacks of gorgeous fabrics. What brand and model of camera do you use? How do you get the pictures so clear?

  2. I didn't realise how much I like looking at fabric stacks until you posed that question! Love your summer themed one. Actually I like them all : )

  3. Lovely. Please keep doing this. I have to buy most of my fabric online and it really helps to be able to see fabrics next to each other -- both in the same collection and random.
