This message is for my friends and customers in the US who buy and swap with Badskirt. From Monday 22nd November 2010 a $9 surcharge has been added by Australia Post for all parcels weighing over 453 grams (16 ounces) being sent to the USA via Air Mail. Also new security measures will add around 48 hours to the delivery time of parcels being sent to the USA via Air Mail. Sadly this means I've had to increase US freight charges. As with previous orders, if the new postage rates are unreasonably overcharged, I refund the difference to you.
I am working to establish the details of using a business account to eliminate the surcharge, but Bondi Post wasn't able to help me. Please know that I'm doing everything I can to help keep your shipping costs low. Please allow a little extra time for parcels to be delivered to the USA.

ReplyDeleteaustralia post never mentioned a business account workaround to this postage surcharge when I made an enquiry. what do you mean? are you saying that if you send a parcel and you pay for it on an australia post business acount, the surcharge is void? do tell! australia post didn't even have this surcharge announcement on THEIR OWN WEBSITE MEDIA RELEASES PAGE the day after it took effect!
ReplyDeleteBetter than Japan which isn't shipping ANY packages to America over 453 pounds (unless with business account?). It has me concerned if someone orders something heavy from my site. I'm not sure I can get it there in time for Christmas as the ban is until Dec. 10
