A few packages have arrived lately and I've got quite a few thank yous to catch up one. I'll be spacing them out over the next week or so. First to Sheridan, Joree and Peta who have fueled my Milles Bourne fixation. A special tub has been setup and labelled Mystery Milles Bourne Project. How perfectly do the fabrics match the full game set that Peta found?
And yesterday, this arrived from Rachel. Once again, I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole swap. I can't believe how absolutely perfect this is for me. Rachel has really captured my free as a bird, love to travel spirit with this piece. And it is a piece... This is art, not craft. Rachel made this as part of the scrappy hoop swap on flickr. She thought of every detail and really captured the spirit in my inspiration mosaic. Then she took it further. From the golden running stitches to the tiny details on the luggage tags. I'm bowled over.
I have some very wonderful friends. They've been an extra eyes for me when they are thrift shopping. They've shared and swapped their rarest of fabrics. They've taken the time in a busy, rushed world to make something special for me. Most importantly, they've been there with quirky emails to bring smiles on gloomy days.
thank you.
such a beautiful embroidery!
ReplyDeleteYou are a lucky girl. That fabric just screams fun (reminds my of the ikea bedspread i have on my little man's bed at the moment) and that hoop art is simply divine. Lucky Lucky. Also just read your original post on Mille Bornes. I totally understand your fascination now. That art is great!
ReplyDeleteDelish! And you are right, works of art!
