I don't say much about Spotlight on my blog. To be honest, I don't get there very often unless I need notions or basics.
I walked into today thought and found several new rolls of 100% cotton with the selvedge "Designed exclusively for Spotlight". They may not be for everyone, but they were perfectly my taste. Unlike earlier Spotlight prints, they have a nice hand and feel like they'll be great to work with.
I hesitated to buy them because I just intentionally destashed most of my children's prints, but I couldn't pass these buy. I was pushed over the edge when I realized they were perfect pairings for the Alexander Henry Pirate Grid prints now at Calico&Ivy. (paired images in my flickr stream)
I don't think they'll be in stock long and I know for a fact that the perfectly matched Alexander Henry grid is quickly disappearing.

They are great. I am like you - not really that thrilled with Spotlight. Their fabrics are usually pretty poor, however, lately there has been some nice stuff. There was even some Liberty look alikes.

ReplyDeleteCute! Ive noticed a couple of half decent prints at spotty lately too.
ReplyDeleteoooo - these are fab! - but I'm on a no more fabric regime at the moment :(
ReplyDeleteI saw the elephants at mine too Amy - but not that gorgeous red in the upper left corner - they caught my eye because they seemed very 'un-Spotlight'!
ReplyDeleteCurse you Amy! I went to Spotty to have a look what they were like in real life and ended up spending $70 on completely different fabric!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's happened there this winter but there's some really nice stuff.
