I've got an easy paper piecing pattern to share with you today. While working on Belinda's quilt, I wanted to include little a few little bees in the patchwork. I decided to draft up my own bee templates in a hexagon which I'm happy to share with you.
Download the Free Bee PDF.
Rather that being a specific size with seam allowances, I've drawn it directly as a hexagon which can be printed and scaled to any size you like. I was thinking it would be fun with hexagons built up like honeycomb. Before I said anything, Leah mailed me and had the same idea. So I'm pretty sure there is a winner hidden in this concept.
Buzz, buzz. Enjoy something small to keep you busy.
Cute!! Thank you Amy!
ReplyDeleteThank you I [ove this.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a honeycomb. Love your bees.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy this is adorable!
ReplyDeletePERFECT timing! The person running our do. Good Stitches bee (Australian based Cherish hive) for June has chosen hexagons and bees for us to make two blocks this month! I was thinking about this http://www.bsmodernquilting.com/2013/04/there-has-been-quite-buzz-about-spring.html , but as a fairly newbie (no pun intended) to paper piecer was thinking this might be a fairly big challenge. so thanks so much for sharing your slightly (ahem!) simpler looking pattern. Would it be OK to share it with the group to use if they choose to make this donation charity quilt?
ReplyDeleteLove your bees, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute Amy!! Thank you for sharing x

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this adorable bee! I seem to be having trouble downloading. It says page can't be displayed. Is it just me?
ReplyDeletejan also reported a problem, but I have tried three computers here in melbourne with no problem. I am currently out of town, but can email it to you when I am home Thursday, if you still have a problem. I cannot recreate the problem here with the pdf.
DeleteI cannot download it either. Any chance I could get a copy?
DeleteIt's a wonderful block, but the link isn't working for me, keeps saying it's been reset? I'm going to keep checking, thank you!
ReplyDeletehi jan, I just tested it at an internet cafe and it worked fine. not sure why you are having problems? does your computer normally have problems with pdfs.
DeleteThank you Amy. I have discovered I can't download anything from you. I have never had a problem before with pdf's or any file for that matter. I think its possible it has something to do with your settings and my setting on my virus protection. Either way, I went on my husband's computer and downloaded it without a problem. Crazy! Thank you for the offer to e-mail it to me. Can't wait to get started. Thanks again for sharing and being so helpful!!!
