I have a small stack of finished projects and patterns that I've been meaning to upload to my Craftsy shop for quite some time. These are easy-to-make beginner and immediate level quilts, cushions and homewares. I've set myself a personal goal of uploading at least one a week through the end of the year.
Last week, I added Cordial on Sunday, which was born out of a Quilt Design a Day pattern. In addition to the basic version which is a great playmat or lap size, I've also added a few bigger quilts and alternate construction ideas.
Version A - 45" Square |
Version B - 64" square |
Version C -80" x 94" |
Version A finishes at 45" square and uses two fabrics for a high graphic, bright and cheerful look which would be ideal for a cot quilt, a toddler tug-along or baby's playmat. Version B adds larger borders and a few colorful scraps, bringing a bit of life to the basic design. Version C is much larger at 80" x 94" and is designed to use a jelly roll to complete the blocks, of course any 2 1/2" scrap strips would work perfectly, so it's a great way to purge your scrap bins.
The sample version shown combines the centre from Version B with the borders from Version A. If you are feeling creative, you could mix and match scraps in any of the designs.

I've made my sample using a slightly heavy-weight linen-cotton blend because I wanted to add a bit of tangible texture to the project. Although the graphic designs are shown with solids, the quilts would also look terrific with prints. The core Cordial block is 12" finished, so it could also be used in samplers or as a basic block within home goods or tote bags.
The good news is that Cordial on Sunday is now available to buy and one quilt of the choices for the seven lucky winners from the Sew, Mama, Sew giveaway. Rebecca, Pixiecat, Shayna, Stephanie, Stephanie B, Quilt455 and Jess B - you will all be getting email later today letting you know that you've won and asking which Badskirt PDF pattern that you'd like.
Congrats to the winners! Keep your eyes peeled because I'll offer more pattern giveaways before the year is out!
