I Love Patchwork! - An irrestitible book.

Recently I was the most fortunate winner of a giveaway from Sarah Fielke of The Last Piece.  If you live in Sydney or are a patchwork afficiando, you've certain heard of Sarah. She was one-half of the duo behind the Material Obsession books. (One and Two) Now, she's the creative director over at Sewn. She's been running around like crazy publishing patterns in magazines left and right and getting ready for her new book. Certainly one busy lady!

I don't often enter online giveaways unless it's a prize that I'd really like and would really use. I believe a bit in giveaway karma and I try not to use it up. Giveaway karma smiled on me this month. I stood up and started bouncing. Craig asked, "dDd you just get a job?" "No, even better! I'm getting an amazing zakka sewing book!"

I was fortunate to win Rashida Coleman-Hale's I Love Patchwork. Talk about an inspiring book! There are 21 projects featuring linen and modern fabrics. The projects are both beautiful and functional. Rashida's fabric choices are beyond words. Never before has a book made me so quickly run to my stash and start pulling out fabrics. This book makes me want to make things - many beautiful things. I Love Patchwork is a must own for any modern sewist. You can see more of Rashida's work at her blog, I Heart Linen.

Thank you, Sarah. It will be put to very good use!

  2. Awesome - congrats!! And it's good to read your review of the book. I've contemplated buying it but am trying to save more/buy less right now. And I just bought summer shoes (so I'm really not doing that great with the save more/buy less goal....hmmm).
