the ice cream social

As I mentioned, Kate and I are cohosting the Oliver + S Ice Cream Dress Sew-along. Our little ice cream social has its own group on flickr to share photos of your progress along the way. It's also a great place to ask questions about fabrics and techniques.

The sewalong will begin on July 18th to give everyone time to get the pattern. While you wait, it's the perfect time to start your Oliver + S paper doll collection. Each pattern comes with a cardboard sleeve which duplicates the information on your pattern envelope. With a few snips with your scissors, you'll be all set. The version show has an extra arc and piece of cardboard to create a base for standing. If you're giving your dress as a gift, a matching paper dolls is a terrific extra touch. Pearl, the tiny spool dog, came to visit me with my Oliver + S boutique sewer licenses. After starting on my first Puppet Show Tunic today, I've decided to order some more!
