I decided it was time to start sewing for myself again. I started with the Theresa dress from BurdaStyle. This is an in-progress muslin for fit made from Italian shirting. I'm thinking AMH voile or Liberty for the "real deal". I decided to omit the ruffles and pockets on my test version, as I was rather skeptical about what size to make. It's coming together well, and I'm hoping that when it's finished and I add a waist tie that it will be a wearable muslin.
I am new to downloading BurdaStyle patterns. I rather enjoyed the hour long jigsaw challenge of assembling 32 pages of pattern. Then I ran out of cellotape... I made quite a bit of progress yesterday. I've still got a zipper to place and a few adjustments to make though. So far, I give my first foray into BurdaStyle world a big thumbs up.
Apart from the girls' dresses that i made in AMH voile I have also made myself a dress and a skirt in the voile. I can absolutely recommend it, it's sooooo lovely to wear!

AMH voile is gorgeous, but I absolutely adore sewing with Liberty (I find the voile has a much greater tendency to be eaten by my sewing machine, but that's probably just my bad sewing) and the prints are to die for. Living a short train journey from Liberty of London probably helps too!
